    PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic, for which it stands; one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve--
is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America",  for an amount of "up to and including their life".
That is Honor, and it seems there are way too many people in this country  who no longer understand that simple fact.

    Author unknown

    A Thought to live with:
"It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag."

Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, Sergeant, USMC

    For our soldiers

"Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform
for us in our time of need.
I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
    Amen
